Recovering from the Great Depression

by on Oct.09, 2011, under Colorado, Ride Reports

Am I over reacting?  The weather yesterday was pretty bad.  I guess the beer didn’t add any happiness to it and watching The Lion King again (yes, The Lion King), was not exactly cheering me up.  When that movie came out, my oldest kid was just a pup.  I think that thing was permanently seated in my VCR.  But, the weather finally broke and just before darkness fell, I saw a glimmer of hope that Sunday would turn out to be a decent day.  So, I emailed my slowly expanding list of “people who I can keep up with” and set sights for Buffalo Creek.

Once again, the Buffalo Creek donut (that’s how us East coast folks spell it, so don’t give me grief about it being a doughnut – no such word) hole  was in full force.

We found some white stuff.

Then, Fatbob (though I fail to understand why he calls himself fat) found some more white stuff.

White stuff gone, we set our expectations to something a little drier.

Attempts were made.

And were succeeded. Yes, that’s my pink Spot.  Tim was demoing it.  I think we just may have another Colorado company purchase.

The horses were rested.

And rode hard.

Tim noticed just how big the raspberries were (ok, there were no raspberries this time of year).

And there were always smiles.

After this it was all downhill and it’s just too much fun to stop and take pictures.
