Fast Belch

by on Apr.10, 2011, under Colorado, Ride Reports

I had JCOS Patrol refresher training today, so getting an early ride in was out of the question.  After finishing up at 12, I stopped by the bike shop to pick up some lube and find out if Stu was still out (he was demoing a bike).  Turns out he was and I thought he was going to White Ranch.  I figured I’d try and catch him on his way back down.

Things were pretty dry and dusty and I made my way up Belcher.  I was so determined to catch him, that I think I had my fastest climb on this trail ever.  Of course, I was on the Spot 1×10, so I lacked a few of the easier gears.  I guess that helped along with it being a cool and windy day.

I waited at Longhorn a few minutes, but there was no activity.  I continued up and did a little loop around the top with some Mustang thrown in for good luck.

I never did see Stu today, and I find out later that he went to Centennial Cone.  Oh well.
