Me First!

I’m being selfish today. Why shouldn’t I be first? I watched eagerly last night as light flakes drifted down. I planned it all. A dusting just enough to create a virgin run. I think this is what skiers pray for. Pretty ironic that I wanted it all for myself on a bike.

Did you know I would find that kind of morning? A frosty breath mixed with just the right amount of overnight moisture that glazes the grasses like butter glazes a carrot. Sure, it was cold. But it’s a dry cold.
